Whether a family chooses interment or cremation, the numerous packages offered will provide many options to honor its deceased.  

In terms of burial packages, the funeral directors of Black’s Funeral Homes offer 3 packages available in Platinum, Gold and Silver. The Full Monte Burial Packages offer the local transportation of the remains to the funeral home, basic services of the funeral director and staff, embalming, dressing, casketing, cosmetology, the local use of a hearse and the services of the staff for an evening viewing and a funeral occurring the next day. These packages also include numerous memorial items, such as a register book, memorial cards, a memorial blanket and memorial DVD. They each come with a Fingerprint Keepsake- the Silver Package comes with one in silver, the Gold Package comes with one in 14-karat yellow or white gold and the Platinum offers one in 14-karat yellow or white gold with a .05-carat birthstone. The Gold and Platinum Packages provide a memorial candle and the Platinum includes a Securigene DNA Preservation Kit. The Same Day Saver Burial Packages offer the same services and products as the Full Monte, except with a 2-hour viewing and same day funeral. The Graveside Burial Packages have the same merchandise as the previous two packages, but they exclude embalming and cosmetology and the staff is used for graveside service in place of a funeral. All packages come with an aftercare service and an estate settlement kit. They also come with reduced pricing if the casket is purchased from the funeral home.

Cremation does not limit the ways in which a family may commemorate its loved one, in fact more tribute options are made available. A family may inter the cremated remains in an urn garden, family plot, memorial site, cremation niche or a number of other indoor and outdoor locations. Scattering ceremonies are becoming quite popular, and can be done over land, water, in a memorial garden or any other meaningful setting. A graveside service can be arranged, where loved ones come together in honor of the deceased to witness the burial of the cremains. Families may also choose to place the ashes in multiple urns to retain in homes. Black’s Funeral Homes have cremation packages for those who would like a funeral service or a memorial service. A package can be custom made to accommodate your needs and budget. In addition to the packages that include commemoration, they offer an immediate or direct cremation package that lacks any viewing or ceremony. It does require an identification, as do all cremations under Maryland law. Again, lowered pricing is applicable to the packages when the casket or alternative container is purchased from the funeral home.
