Kenneth "Kenny" Moore Obituary

Kenneth “Kenny” Lamar Moore, of Thurmont, MD passed away Sunday October 16, 2022, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown MD.

Born July 20, 1940, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late parents, Milbert Montell Moore and Emma Louise Castle (Moore). He also Proceeded in death by his beloved dog Trouble.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen Moore (Jacobs), and his two sons Kevin Moore and fiancé Yvonne Brubaker of Bullhead, Az and Troy Moore and fiancé Tawyna Stoner of Waynesboro, PA. Kenneth was also survived by three grandchildren Sabrina Greenwalt, Kris Moore, Courtney “Charlie” Wagner and six great grandchildren. He was also survived by his brother Russel L. Castle and wife Marilyn, sister Emma LaBee Fox Regan and husband Mike, and several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth attended school in Frederick, MD. He worked at Price Electric for a short time and went to work for United Insurance Company of America until retirement.

Kenneth enjoyed wearing western attire and his cowboy boots. He loved watching the old western shows and especially John Wayne movies. He was a big fan of anything and everything of Elvis Presley. He liked to do calligraphy and charcoal drawings. He educated himself how to read and write in Greek because he had a passion to read the Greek bible, which he accomplished. He had a strong passion to spread the word of God to anyone who would listen. He also had a love of cars, especially his Nissan 350Z.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at Wellers United Methodist Church, 101 N Altamont Ave, Thurmont, MD 21788, from 5pm-7pm. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 26 at 10am, at Wellers United Methodist Church in Thurmont. Paster Tim Hampton will be officiating.

Kenneth’s care has been entrusted to Black’s Funeral Home.
