Donald Eugene Hahn, 90 of Emmitsburg went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Michaux Manor in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania surrounded by his family.
Born September 12, 1930, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Raymond Augustus and Eva Virginia nee Eyler Hahn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Hahn, a sister Rebecca Bankard, and brother-in-law Ray Toms.
Donald was employed for many years as a manager at Claire Frock in Thurmont, later in his career, he was a custodian at Sabillasville Elementary School. Both Donald and his wife Betty are remembered by many students for making ceramic Christmas ornaments which he would give out to the students. Donald also worked at Ft. Ritchie in maintenance. He was a veteran of the United States Army being honorably discharged in 1954.
Donald was a dedicated life member of St. Marks Church in Sabillasville where he filled a variety of roles over the years including treasurer and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons Acacia Lodge 155 of Thurmont, and a past member of the American Legion Edwin C. Creeger, Jr. Post 168 of Thurmont.
He enjoyed tending his farm and was particularly proud of his potatoes. Donald enjoyed a good meal especially oyster feeds and spending time with his beloved family. He was known to be flirtatious from time to time and was a man of few words but when he spoke you listened.
Surviving are his children Donna Gills (Ed), Butch Hahn (Deb), Mike Hahn (Loretta), Gus Hahn (Angie); grandchildren Alisha Yocum (Justus), Justin Hahn (Cassie), Chris Albright (Jeanna), Megan Pautler (Daniel), Jonathan Hahn (Ashley), Nathanael Hahn, Elizabeth Hahn; great-grandchildren Eli, Bryce, Holden, Landon, Kimber, Baylyn, BreElla, Tanner; sister Betty Toms; and brother-in-law Gary Bankard.
The family will receive friends at Keysville Lutheran Church 7301 Keysville Rd, Keymar, MD 21757 on MONDAY, November 16, 2020, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM; funeral services will be held TUESDAY, November 17, 2020, at 11 AM with Pastors Carl Fulmor & Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. Interment will follow in Keysville Lutheran Cemetery.
