David C Murphy

David C. Murphy, 61 of Barlow-Greenmount passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2020 at the Gettysburg Hospital.

Born June 30, 1959 in Washington D.C. he was the son of the late Henry & Marcella nee Murphy Waterman.

By trade David was a master electrician and owned DC Murphy Electrical Contractors and was previously employed by Core Electric. Outside of his business he was an accomplished baker, he enjoyed tinkering with his 1981 Triumph TR-7, snorkeling, fishing, boating, bowling, and fireworks.

Dave attended Frederick Church of the Nazarene as well as the Eyler’s Valley Chapel. He was a member of the Carlisle Triumph Club.

David is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Susanna Murphy.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children David Stockman (April), Dean Stockman (Sheila), Daniel Stockman (fiancé Lori Mellors), Chanene L Stockman,; grandchildren David, Dean (D.J.), Brendon, Savanna, Sheryl, Avrey Stockman, Whitney Smyth, Seth Smyth; siblings Tammie Corcoran, Anna Waterman; and numerous cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held on SUNDAY August 30, 2020 at 1PM at the Blue Ridge Cemetery 121 Altamont Ave Thurmont, MD 21788.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Susanne Murphy 125 Barlow Greenmount Rd Gettysburg Pa 17325.

David’s care has been entrusted to Black’s Funeral Home of Thurmont.
