Obituary

Nolan Lewis Griffith, 91 of Thurmont, Maryland went to be with Lord on April 10, 2024.

Born September 30, 1932, in Darnestown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Earl Emory Griffith and Virginia Haycock.

He is one of five children, which include brother's Luther (Bobby)Griffith, Earl Griffith, and sister's Agnus Virginia Hessong and Hannah (Sharlene) Hoffman. Nolan was the last surviving sibling.

He was married to Lois Ruth Bailey for 70 years before her passing in March 2023. Nolan is survived by his daughter Lisa J. (Griffith) Eyler of Waynesboro, PA, and son Nolan L Griffith Jr. of Thurmont, MD. Additionally, he had numerous grand-children, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was a skilled craftsman in leather work, an outdoorsman, professionally rode horses (Jockey) as a young man and loved his family. He was a man of integrity, honor and loved this country.

He was also a proud member of the local Freemasonic Lodge, Acacia #155, in Thurmont, MD.

Services will be held at Weller Church, in Thurmont, MD on April 22, 2024, with receiving of Friends at 3:00pm, and a Memorial Service following at 3:30pm.

Nolan's Care has been entrusted to Black's Funeral Home in Sabillasville, MD.
