Marc Philip Smith of Johnsville, Maryland, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026. He was 55.

Born on October 2, 1970, Marc was the beloved son of Phil B. Smith and Marta S. Funkhouser.

Marc graduated from Walkersville High School and attended the University of Maryland. He remained a devoted Terrapins fan throughout his life. He dedicated himself to helping others through his work managing a halfway house in Westminster, where he made a meaningful difference in the lives of many. He also worked alongside his brother at the family auction house.

In his free time, Marc enjoyed antiquing and attending concerts. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family. He dearly loved his parents and took great joy in being an uncle to his nieces.

In addition to his parents, Marc is survived by his brother, Greg Smith and his wife, Jennifer; his nieces, Kaitlin Smith (Kennedy and Charlie) and Julia Smith; as well as his uncles, aunt, and several cousins. He will be deeply missed by his dog, Bella and all who knew and loved him.

Marc will be remembered for his kind heart, his willingness to help others, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
