Doris Jean Kirkland (Hannibal), 70 of Hampstead passed from this world on December 18, 2016.

Born on August 10, 1946 in Baltimore she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ada Mullendore Hannibal.

She was employed with the Baltimore County Board of Education Food Service for 20 years.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by one brother Ronald Hannibal, and her daughters husband David Montgomery.

She was the loving wife of 49 years to Robert "Bob" Kirkland.

In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her brother Arthur Hannibal Jr. and wife Virginia, son Arthur "Robby" Kirkland, and daughter Robin Montgomery and her grandson John David McElroy Jr. , and many nieces nephews, extended family and friends.

Doris was a former Girl Scout Leader, and assisted with the Boy Scouts Troop 485 of Glenco, Baltimore County.

Doris was a former member of the Westminster Elks Lodge 2277.

She was actively involved in the Baltimore County 4-H clubs including Maryland 4-H All Stars for over 35 years, and was a certified Maryland Judge for fair entries.

Doris was also a member of the Pleasant Grove Church where her and Bob attended for many years.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date and will be led by Pastor Dick Harden.
