Mrs. Darlene Lois Wastler, 70 of Thurmont went to be with her lord and savior on March 14, 2023 at the Kline Hospice House in Mount Airy.

Born July 30, 1952, in Thurmont she was the daughter of Josephine & the late Lee Eyler.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband Donald Wastler Sr, and special nephew Cody Lee Clark.

Darlene was a graduate of Catoctin High School class of 1970. She worked at Clara Frock where she met the love of her life Donald Wastler Sr whom she wed on July 6, 1974.

Darlene enjoyed being a homemaker and was known for her incredible baking skills.

Later in life Darlene worked as a hostess at Roy Rogers where she was loved and cherished by many. There wasn't a soul around that didn't have a kind word to say about Darlene.

Darlene was a member of the Weller United Methodist Church where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by her sons Donald Wastler Jr. (Kelly), Steven Wastler; mother Josephine Eyler; siblings Donald Eyler (Jean), Kathy Wivell (Rick), Mark Eyler (Lori), Nancy Eyler, Lee Eyler Jr. (Julie), Linda Kaas (Doug) sister-in-law Edith Wastler grandchildren Casey Connally (Jeremy), Jacob Wastler, Jonathan Wastler, Destiny Wastler; great-grandsons Silas Connally, Jonah Connally; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

The family will receive friends on FRIDAY March 17, 2023 at Weller United Methodist Church: 101 N. Altamont Avenue Thurmont, MD 21788 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on SATURDAY March 18, 2023 at Weller United Methodist Church at 10 AM her brother Pastor Mark Eyler officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Wastler, Jonathan Wastler, Jeremy Connally, Donald Eyler Jr, Rick Wivell, Dave Eichelberger, Matthew Eyler, Craig Carter; honorary pallbearers will be Silas and Jonah Connally.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Darlene's name to Weller United Methodist Church: 101 North Altamont Avenue Thurmont, MD 21788

Darlene's care has been entrusted to Black's Funeral Home.
