She was raised in Hagerstown, MD and lived her life as a powerful force for all that were fortunate to share time with her. She married Richard Wastler Troxell, in 1959 and moved to Thurmont, where she lived her entire adult life. A lover of travel, Patsy made it to all 50 states, as well as much of Canada and Europe. For 20 years she was the Coordinator for the Thurmont Senior Center. Using her musical talents, she created the Catoctin Canaries – a singing group formed of Seniors from the Center and took the “birds” all the way to a performance at the White House.
A lifelong member of Apples United Church of Christ, Patt sang on the choir, played as accompanist, directed the Church Christmas plays, served on the Church Council for many years and inspired all. Patsy was also very involved in the Thurmont community as President of the PTA and a volunteer at the Catoctin National Park, and the Catoctin Colorfest. Patsy was inducted into the Maryland Senior Citizen Hall of Fame. She loved her family and friends and everyone she met, unconditionally and fully, and she let you know it.
