Patsy was born to the late Lula (Sis) Young Cianelli and Nicholas Bruno Cianelli.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband Richard of 42 years of marriage in 2001.

She was raised in Hagerstown, MD and lived her life as a powerful force for all that were fortunate to share time with her.  She married Richard Wastler Troxell, in 1959 and moved to Thurmont, where she lived her entire adult life.  A lover of travel, Patsy made it to all 50 states, as well as much of Canada and Europe.  She was known for her singing talents.  As a young star talent from Hagerstown she had the opportunity to study at the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia but chose rather to be a “star” locally in the MD.  area and share her talents with her family, her friends, her church and her community.  For 20 years she was the Coordinator for the Thurmont Senior Center. Using her musical talents, she created the Catoctin Canaries – a singing group formed of Seniors from the Center and took the “birds” all the way to a performance at the White House.

A lifelong member of Apples United Church of Christ, Patt sang on the choir, played as accompanist, directed the Church Christmas plays, served on the Church Council for many years and inspired all. Patsy was also very involved in the Thurmont community as President of the PTA and a volunteer at the Catoctin National Park, and the Catoctin Colorfest. Patsy was inducted into the Maryland Senior Citizen Hall of Fame.  She loved her family and friends and everyone she met, unconditionally and fully, and she let you know it.  And boy could she cook, especially spaghetti.

Patsy is survived by her 3 children Paula and husband Mike Mathis and their two children, Daniel and Ben;  Richard and wife, Lisa Lovelace and their children Wilder and Shane; Lu-Anne and husband Tim Ewing and their children Graham and Jill Ewing and Abby and Tyler Owens and great grandson, Eli Owens. her brother Jerry Cianelli and wife Susie  She will be remembered by many in-laws, nieces and nephews and an abundance of family and friends.  We greatly appreciate the staff at Lorien of Taneytown and Carroll Hospice.
