Margaretta (Peggy) L. Bush (82) of Huntingdon County, PA passed away at home January 15, 2019. She was born August 28, 1936 in Syracuse, NY to Anson Chester and Margaretta Virginia Peguesse Priestley Bossard. Peggy graduated from Northside High School, Corning, NY in 1954. She attended Geneseo State College, in New York after one year she went to be reunited with her father in Philadelphia, March 1955. She worked at Lit Brothers Department store and worked her way to Assistant buyer. Peggy married Ira Bush April 26, 1958 where they started their family in Upper Darby, PA. They welcomed Philip on May 25, 1960, Elaine on March 25, 1961 and Jennifer on July 27, 1967. In 1964, she started making costumes for La Salle Summer Theater costume construction until 1980. During this time she worked for Kinnamon Inc., costume construction for Dinner theater at River Front, City Line, Downingtown and Burn Brae from 1979-1983. For many years, Jean Heffernan was by her side sewing at all hours to complete 80 plus costumes per show. Some of the shows include Music Man, Gigi, My Fair Lady, Brigadoon, The King and I, The South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, Annie Get Your Gun, Anything Goes, Oliver and many more. During those years, she had the chance to work with Ann Margret on a show that she was doing in Las Vegas, NV. From 1970-1979 she worked at Manley Vida (automotive warehouse). She worked for Upper Darby School transportation driving school bus and drove for 10 years before retiring to their mountain house in Huntington, PA. During her time in Upper Darby, she belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary at Cardington Fire House and was a lifetime member.
Peggy is survived by her children Philip (Bruce Haines) Bush, Pottstown, PA; Elaine (Paul) Kelly, West Grove, PA; Jennifer Potter, Rockwall, TX; grandchildren Leahia Bush, Jackie Kelly, and Megan Kelly. brother Anson (Rita) Bossard; sister Mary Joan (Alan) Mandel; brother Peter (Diana) Bossard; sister Diane (Joe) Ambruso; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Ira N. Bush, Jr, parents Anson Chester and Margaretta Virginia Bossard, her brother Charles Bossard and brother Paul Bossard.
At Peggy’s request, her body has been donated to Medcure for the advancement of science. A memorial service (gathering) will be held later.
