Jerry Thomas O'Gorman Sr.

Jerry Thomas O’Gorman Sr., 72 of Middletown and formally of Gaithersburg, MD passed away December 25, 2017 at his home.

Born on July 9, 1945 in Sarasota, Florida he was the son of the late Jeremiah Thomas and Phyllis Ann O’Gorman.

Jerry’s father was a man he very much looked up to and strived to be like him every day. In fact the thing he was most proud of was turning out to be just like his father. 

 Early in life Jerry was a star athlete excelling in both football and baseball during his high school career at Albany High School (California) where he is being inducted into the hall of fame this coming June.

 He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force where he served as an air traffic controller and retired with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.

 He will be remembered for all times as a loving husband, a great father, a wonderful grandfather, the best brother and a good friend to all who knew him.  “Let me tell you a little story”

 In addition to spending time with his family Jerry enjoyed horse racing and was an avid fan of the Oakland Raiders.

 Surviving is his loving wife Linda, a daughter Jamie Morgan & husband Joe, a son Jerry Jr.,  6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. 

Funeral services will be held on September 7, 2018 at 2:45 P.M. at the Old Post Chapel, 204 Lee Ave, Fort Myer, VA 22211 with Jill Cody presiding. 

Interment with military honors will follow in Arlington National Cemetery.

Jerry's care has been entrusted to Black's Funeral Home of Thurmont.
